From Leper to Preacher

Shortly after graduating from college, Bro. Luisito “Louie” Angeles, who finished B.S. Architecture, applied for work overseas. He wanted to help his family. (Bro. Louie worked his way through college: worked during the day and attended classes at night).

But all his dreams were shattered when he failed his medical exam. Bro. Louie was found to have leprosy.

For two years, his parents did their best to buy his many medicines. But despite the medicines he was taking, his disease became worse. His physical and mental suffering intensified that he became afflicted with insomnia.

Desperate to find healing, Bro. Louie clung all the more to his religious practices that he has inherited from his parents. From praying to many different graven images to “walking” on his knees from church door to the altar, he had done them all. But his prayers remained unanswered and his sacrifices were all in vain.

The first time I heard Bro. Louie’s testimony was from a recorded testimony of his brother. He said of Bro. Louie’s suffering, “The stillness of the night is shattered by his sorrowful weeping.”

Eventually, Bro. Louie was forced to be confined in a leprosarium. The night before he was to be brought to the leprosarium, he felt so hopeless that he decided to end his life. While he was planning how to kill himself, his eyes caught something in the newspaper that was in his room. It was an invitation from JESUS MIRACLE CRUSADE INTERNATIONAL MINISTRY (JMCIM) for an upcoming major crusade. He got so interested that he read the whole thing: “Are you sick of cancer? Leukemia? Or any other kind of incurable disease?… The Lord Jesus loves you and He will heal you… through the prayers of Evangelist Wilde E. Almeda…”

Right there and then, Bro. Louie’s whole being was flooded with bright hope that he forgot his suicide plan, and for the first time in many months, he slept peacefully.

He didn’t wait for the crusade but went immediately to the midweek service of JMCIM in Amoranto Stadium.

During the altar call, Bro. Louie raced to the front, desiring to receive God’s healing. He received Jesus Christ as His Lord and Savior and was baptized in water in Jesus’ name. During the prayer for healing portion, a preacher laid his hands on him and cast out the demon of leprosy, while the beloved Hon. Pastor Evangelist Wilde E. Almeda was on his knees in deep prayer. After the prayer, Bro. Louie felt something different in his body, so he took off his jacket and found out that his wounds have all instantly dried up!

When he arrived home, he burned all his medicines and claimed complete healing in Jesus’ name. From that day on, Bro. Louie was healed of his leprosy.

Because of this great miracle in his life, Bro. Louie surrendered his life to the Lord Jesus Christ. He became a full-time worker of JMCIM and later became an ordained preacher of the church. That was 21 years ago and Bro. Louie continues to serve the Lord faithfully to this day.

Halleluia! To God be the glory!
