“Thy Faith Hath Made Thee Whole”

Sis. Chona Cortiguera in her Finest Choir Wednesday uniform at Amoranto Stadium, March 2011.

Before she came to know the Lord Jesus Christ and accepted Him as her Lord and Savior, Sis. Chona Cortiguera was suffering from demon-possession. Her family did everything to help her, but to no avail.

Then in 1996, their family was invited to the worship service of the JESUS MIRACLE CRUSADE INTERNATIONAL MINISTRY. As her family accepted the Lord Jesus as their Lord and Savior, Sis. Chona received her first miracle: she was freed from her demon-possession. She also accepted Jesus Christ in her life and was baptized in water in His name. From that day on, she was never again possessed by the devil, and she continued to live a normal life.

When Sis. Chona was already working, her faith would be tested. One day at work, she felt an excruciating pain in her stomach. She immediately left for home. That night, the pain in her stomach worsened that she could no longer get up to eat. Her mother served her dinner, but after trying to eat some, she vomited it all out.

The following morning, they went to a clinic for a check-up. After ultrasound, the doctor told her she had gallbladder stones, and she needed to undergo immediate operation.

Sis. Chona, being full of faith by God’s grace, rejected the decision for an operation, and chose to put her complete trust in the Lord, that He will be the one to heal her.

The doctor was shocked at her decision and told her that she was risking her life. Her family couldn’t do anything about it but respect her decision.

The next worship service, she and her beloved mother sought counseling from the beloved Hon. Pastor Wilde E. Almeda. The beloved Pastor counseled that if the sick person is able to fast for three days, then, he or she may do so, and he or she will receive healing from the merciful Lord.

And so, that was what Sis. Chona and her mother did. The following morning, they entered the sisters fasting house in Sauyo, Novaliches, Quezon City.

At dawn of the second day of their fasting, Sis. Chona heard a voice calling her name and telling her to rise and praise the Lord. Without hesitation, she got up and shouted Halleluiah! It was then that she saw an angel in the window sweetly smiling at her. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing but it was there: the angel at the window smilling at her. (This amazing sight would remain fresh in her memory).

After they left the fasting house, Sis. Chona returned to the doctor for another check-up. While she was undergoing ultrasound, the doctor couldn’t understand what she was seeing, or more accurately, what  she wasn’t seeing. She thought that the instrument must be multifunctioning, so she called for her nurse for assistance.

But the instrument was found to be working efficiently, and the doctor could no longer see any gallbladder stones. The result of Sis. Chona’s test was negative. She was completely healed by the  Lord Jesus Christ in whom she also trusted completely.

In 2007, Sis. Chona suffered another dreadful disease in the stomach (although a doctor then suspected she might have colon disease based on her symptoms, but she didn’t undergo any tests so it wasn’t diagnosed what it really was), but she never wavered in her trust in the Lord. Again, after prayer and fasting, she was healed by dearest Lord Jesus.

Sis. Chona sings in the JESUS FINEST GENERATION CHOIR and serves the Lord diligently, together with her whole family, to this day.

Halleluiah! To God be the glory!
