Healed of Kidney Disease: The Testimony of Bro. Roger Ibera

The testimony of Bro. Roger Ibera is one that girds up your faith in the Word: Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. (Matthew 10:29, emphasis mine).

Up to 1999, Bro. Roger had lived his life indulging in worldly pleasures and vices. He didn’t have control with his body, giving in to his fleshly desires. He was obese and later on acquired many diseases, like poor eyesight, heart disease, and worst of all, kidney disease.

He had been to different hospitals in Metro Manila, including The Philippine Heart Center. In desperation, he also resorted to different quack doctors, subjecting himself to their dark rituals. But in the end, he found himself at National Kidney Institute where he would be in and out of for 1 1/2 years. During this time, he had become skin and bones from the diseases he was suffering from.

In one of his confinements at National Kidney Institute, he stayed in a semi-private room and he witnessed how each one of his roommates would leave the room dead. He became depressed and hopeless.

One day in the hospital, he temporarily lost his vision and his memory. He didn’t know who he was and he could only see white images. When his sight and memory returned, he wrote to his family in the province, informing them of his whereabouts and situation. All that time, he was alone in the hospital. He was given mats upon mats of various drugs but he wasn’t getting better.

One Saturday, while alone in his room at National Kidney Institute, he looked out the window to the waiting area and saw a preacher sharing the Gospel to the people there. While he was observing through the window, the preacher looked up and their eyes met. The preacher approached the window and talked to him.

Bro. Roger learned that he was a preacher from Jesus Miracle Crusade International Ministry. He told him his situation, that he was going to undergo a much-needed surgery in a few days hence. The beloved preacher shared to him the Gospel of salvation and invited him to attend the worship service at Cuneta Astrodome.

The next day being a Sunday, Bro. Roger rose up at dawn and busied himself to prepare to escape and go to the worship service. He removed everything that was attached to his body, quietly left his hospital room, hailed a taxi, and off he went to Cuneta Astrodome, full of hope for healing and deliverance at last.

Since it was still dark, he waited outside. Soon, the beloved brethren arrived and streamed into the venue and he observed how the sisters were clothed modestly without the worldly adornment of jewelries and he heard how they spoke about their pastor with respect and high regard. He was in awe.

When the congregational singing began, he couldn’t explain the great relief that he felt in his body. And when the beloved Jesus Finest Generation Choir sang, he was lifted up in the spirit and he felt like he was floating in the clouds!

When altar call came, he was so in a hurry to reach the front that he bounded down the bleachers. He received the Lord Jesus Christ gladly and was baptized in water in His name.

He didn’t go back to the hospital. The next morning when he went to the toilet to urinate, two large stones came out. He took them and brought them to National Kidney Institute and showed them to his doctor. He testified to the doctor how he received salvation and healing in Jesus’ name.

When he continued to attend worship services and serve and love the Lord Jesus Christ faithfully, he received complete healing of all his diseases. That has been 22 years ago and Bro. Roger continues to live in health and wellness by the grace of God.

ALL PRAISE, HONOR, GLORY AND THANKSGIVING TO OUR LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, OUR DEAREST LORD JESUS!

MMTC Bus Tragedy: The Amazing Testimony of Sister Rose De Guzman

(The entirety of this testimony was taken from my book Quiet Strength: And Learning from Women of the Bible Who Had It which was published in 2014. Mommy Rose’s amazing testimony is one of the few featured testimonies in the book. Mommy Rose went to be with the Lord a few months ago in a full old age. Hers was a blessed life and her testimony, God’s great miracle in her life, will live forever in our hearts).

Sis. Rose de Guzman

At 73, Sister Rose, or Mommy Rose as she is fondly called in Church, still possesses vibrant vitality and health more than other women her age or even younger ones. When she testifies in the pulpit, she is straightforward and her voice carries an underlying power which can only come from a life that has experienced God’s miracles first-hand.

In 1978, when life was generally hard and Sister Rose had to help her husband to provide for their family of eight, it would also be the time that she would suffer from anemia. A neighbor who was very concerned with her took pity of her situation and lent her money so she could see a doctor at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in Novaliches, Quezon City. The doctor who checked up on her gave her prescriptions for her healing and advised her also to undergo blood transfusion every month. Sis. Rose could not afford to buy the costly medicines let alone a bag of blood for transfusion. Meanwhile, she was growing weaker and paler each day.

But in the same year, she attended a spiritual and healing crusade of the JESUS MIRACLE CRUSADE MINISTRY held at Plaza Novaliches in Quezon City. Through the prayers of Beloved and Hon. Evangelist Wilde Almeda, she was healed instantly. The following day, to prove to her doctor that she was healed in the name of Jesus, she went back to the hospital and showed herself to the doctor. After some tests, the doctor was amazed to find that she was, indeed, cured from her anemia! She noticed Sis. Rose’s cheerful demeanor and asked if she had been taking the medicines she had prescribed, to which sis. Rose readily answered, “Doc, I can hardly buy food, how much more those costly medicines?”

She proceeded to testify to the doctor that she attended the crusade of Jesus Miracle Crusade Ministry wherein she was prayed over by the beloved pastor, and thus, she received healing. “That’s marvelous!” Her doctor exclaimed in awe.

Sister Rose and her brood continued to serve the Lord faithfully in Jesus Miracle Crusade Ministry. Her husband refused to be converted though. Every time they attended worship service, he stayed at home. Sis. Rose and her children traveled from Novaliches to Urduja Village in Caloocan City which was quite a long distance. Since the Sunday service was a whole-day affair, her husband wondered where they ate every time they went to church. They did not pack lunch, neither did they have the money for it, so he asked what they were eating the whole day. Sis. Rose’s youngest daughter, 5-year old Wela, answered, “Tatay, the food there is really delicious! We eat the Word of God and we are filled!”

Shocked, Sis. Rose and her teenage daughter Marissa glanced at each other. “Nanay, how did Wela know such a thing?” Marissa asked her mother quietly.

“Her answer came from the Lord,” Sis. Rose answered.

Sis. Rose and her children attended church in Jesus Miracle Crusade Ministry without her husband. And so it went this way for four years.

On April 22, 1982, a day no one in the family would ever forget, a great miracle happened. Sis. Rose was selling mango at the side of the road near their house along Quirino Highway. Her son, 9-year old Timoteo, was with her assisting her. That side of the busy highway where buses ply was a row of fruit vendors.

A Metro Manila Transit bus was approaching at high speed. When a car in front suddenly braked to a stop, the bus driver tried to avoid crashing onto it, but it was too late. The impact of the crash and the momentum of the bus sent it flying over the side of the road, ramming through the vendors’ shanties until it finally stopped on top of Sis. Rose’s stall, pinning her, her son, and a dog underneath. But before the bus even landed on top of them, Sis. Rose managed to shout, “Halleujah! Praise the Lord! Lord, save us!”

The bus instantly killed one of the vendors in its wake. Two sisters who were buying mangoes were rushed to the hospital but both perished the next morning.

Meanwhile, pinned down by a pile of wood from their wrecked stall and the bus itself, Sis. Rose and her son saw the dog beside them smashed and dead. But Sis. Rose and her son were both alive and unharmed! They were both amazed as to how on earth could they have survived such a tragedy! They knew without doubt that it was God’s hand which delivered them – a miracle of all miracles!

Timoteo was able to pull himself out from underneath the wreckage and bus with nary a scratch, shouting gleefully, “PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD!” Later on, Sis. Rose was rescued and pulled out, also uninjured.

Sis. Rose’s beloved husband, Bro. Timoteo Sr., witnessed the whole mishap. When he saw his dear wife and son disappear beneath the bus, he knew for certain they would both be dead. But he couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw them come out, alive without a scratch.

Such a miracle of this magnitude merits our remembrance of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and the fiery furnace!

Because of this, Bro. Timoteo Sr. gladly surrendered his life to the Lord Jesus Christ, and together with his family, served Him faithfully in Jesus Miracle Crusade International Ministry to this day.

Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!

All the glory, honor, praise, and thanksgiving belong to our Lord God Almighty!

Healed of Lung Cancer: The Testimony of Bro. Ricardo Caindoy

1992. Bro. Ricardo was told by the doctors in the hospital that he had only 3 months to live. He had advanced lung and intestinal cancer which had also affected his heart. He and his wife were told to go home for there was nothing more that could be done. Staying longer in the hospital would incur more expenses which they could hardly afford. Bro. Ricardo’s back felt like it was crushed due to the ravages of the disease. His spirit, too, was quashed of all hope.

Bro. Ricardo Caindoy

Bro. Ricardo Caindoy testifying in the pulpit at Amoranto Stadium.

At home, Bro. Ricardo waited for death. Emaciated and weak, he never left his bed while his wife did her best to earn a living. Only skin and bones were what was left of his frame. When he crossed his legs, they stayed tangled that way. Even an ant or a fly that ventured into his eyes or face, he didn’t even notice nor had the strength to swat. His 2-year old son was his companion all day.

One day, this toddler boy prayed beside him. Lisping, he said, “Papa Jesus, please help my Daddy. Please have pity on him.” After he prayed, he asked his Daddy to turn on the TV. He wanted to watch the noontime show. But when Bro. Ricardo opened the TV, it was the program of Jesus Miracle Crusade International Ministry that greeted him. The beloved Hon. Pastor, Evangelist Wilde E. Almeda was preaching. He was inviting all the sick – sick of cancer, leukaemia, diabetes, leprosy, and all other sicknesses and diseases – to come to the worship services of the Jesus Miracle Crusade and receive healing from the Lord Jesus.

During the mass healing on TV, Bro. Ricardo joined in the prayers of the beloved pastor and cast out the demons of cancer from his body. Instantly, he felt great relief, so much so that he worked up a huge appetite to eat. His wife served him cold rice and instant noodles. It was all they had. They were buried in debts and even relatives couldn’t help. He ate it all then closed his eyes and rested. His wife was so worried she looked closely if he was still breathing. She cried in grief while Bro. Ricardo fell sound asleep. When he awoke, he gained much strength and felt refreshed.

Bro. Ricardo and his wife traveled from Pililla, Rizal to Amoranto Stadium in Quezon City to  attend the worship service of JMCIM. Their neighbors who saw them were worried that he might not able to endure the journey. But his hope for healing couldn’t be quenched.

When they arrived in the worship service, Bro. Ricardo realized that everything was orchestrated by God. Before he set foot on Amoranto, he lived a depraved life. He committed crimes and often hid from authorities. He was a cruel man. He testifies that one time while he was in hiding, he dreamed of women with long hairs singing in a choir in heaven. When he awoke, he was wondering why those women were so full of joy.

As he entered the gates of Amoranto, his whole body began to tremble and he was crying unabashedly. He already felt the mighty power of the Holy Spirit. When he saw the Jesus Finest Generation Choir, he recognized them as the ones he saw in his dream and all of a sudden, he was gripped by a strong faith, so powerful that he knew without a doubt he was going to get well!

That same night, Bro. Ricardo and his wife received the Lord Jesus Christ and were baptized in water in His name. From that most blessed day, January 3, 1993, to this day, Bro. Ricardo bears the complete healing the Lord had given him. His life was also transformed. He serves the Lord faithfully with his whole family and through the years, he has continued to witness miracles in his life, big and small, and testifies of them wherever he goes.

Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!

All the glory, honor, praise, and thanksgiving belong to our Lord God Almighty!

Near-shipwreck: The Testimony of Beloved Captain Ferdinand Estillore

Beloved Captain Ferdinand Estillore testifying in the pulpit during Friday Overnight Worship Service at Amoranto Stadium, Quezon City, Sept. 2013.

Beloved Captain Ferdinand Estillore testifying in the pulpit during Friday Overnight Worship Service at Amoranto Stadium, Quezon City, Sept. 2013.

It’s a blessing to listen to beloved Captain Ferdinand Estillore testify in the pulpit (he rarely testifies for he is mostly at sea). His spiritual fervor after all these years of serving the Lord (not to mention his success in his profession and material blessings in abundance) has not waned.

He testifies that before he surrendered his life to the Lord in December of 1990, his personal life was in chaos. He and his beloved wife didn’t have peace in their marriage. It was beset with frequent fights triggered mostly by Capt. Estillore’s many vices. As a captain of an international shipping line, he was not immune to the worldly practices sailors are exposed to.

One night while he was at home on vacation, he happened upon the TV program of JESUS MIRACLE CRUSADE INTERNATIONAL MINISTRY. He listened at the preaching and realized that he was the one targeted by the beloved Hon. Pastor Wilde E. Almeda’s words: his way of life as a seaman and the vices he was immersed in. The message of the Gospel hit home and Capt. Estillore began to cry. He and his wife decided to attend the worship service and receive the Lord Jesus Christ and His salvation. Their whole household was saved and peace began to reign in their hearts and home.

Five years later, Capt. Estillore’s faith would be tested. Their ship was navigating the turbulent waters of the Pacific Ocean from Solomon Islands headed for Korea. But the northeast monsoon brought violent winds, and waves wreaked havoc upon the ship, causing a long gash (hole) along its side. The pressure of water coming into the ship was so strong that water was filling up the bodega of the ship so fast it tilted the huge vessel slightly to its side.

Capt. Estillore mobilized his men immediately, instructing them to pump out the water using all the submersible pumps found in the ship. But they could not control the water. Capt. Estillore cried out to the Lord, “Dearest Lord, you will not abandon me now!” (Before he boarded that ship, he was prayed over and laid hands on by the beloved Hon. Pastor Wilde Almeda). So, he trusted God that they will not perish and the ship will not sink.

They did everything they could to reduce the damage and Capt. Estillore sent messages to the Japanese Maritime Safety Agency and to the US Coast Guard in Guam informing them about their predicament, but he had not yet requested for rescue. He said it was the hardest decision he had to make. He went to his cabin and there, he sank to his knees and prayed and cried out to God, “My dearest Lord! You will not abandon me! Please give me wisdom on how to save this ship and my men!”

His men worked overnight pumping out water from the ship, but in the morning, the second engineer went to Capt. Estillore’s cabin and asked what time they were abandoning the ship. Instead of answering him, he ordered the second engineer to go help in pumping out water.

While Capt. Estillore was busy making various reports, the chief engineer and the electrician came to him and reported that the previous night while they worked to pump out water, they saw a big bird hovering above the starboard of the damaged bodega. They said that for 30 minutes the bird hovered above it and they marvelled at the sight.

Capt. Estillore hurried to his cabin and wept. He held his Bible and began to sing and worship. He sang just one song for an hour, Tell My People I love Them. He sang with all his heart and soul, worshiping God with all his being. Then he opened his Bible and he was brought to Psalm 91.

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. (Ps. 91:11)

The ship’s owner radioed him and advised that they proceed to Guam, but the waves were so turbulent along that way that Capt. Estillore knew that if they went that way, they will sink after just an hour. So he cried to God again, asking for guidance. He moved the ship in such a way that it faced Surigao Strait. And so, they followed that way, navigating away from the rough seas, the strong waves and winds were behind them. The ship slowly straightened up from its tilting position and Capt. Estillore breathed a huge sigh of relief and thanksgiving.

When they finally docked in Cebu, Philippines safe and sound, some media men met them and interviewed Capt. Estillore. He boldly declared that he was a Christian serving the Lord in JESUS MIRACLE CRUSADE INTERNATIONAL MINISTRY. While the ship was being repaired, Capt. Estillore flew to Manila to testify of God’s mighty deliverance.

Capt. Estillore and his family remained faithful to the Lord and continued to serve Him to this day. They have been continually reaping God’s promises and abundant blessings. His children are now successful professionals in their chosen fields.

Hallelujah! To God be ALL the glory!

Hannah’s Miracle

She has been singing in JMCIM Children's Choir since she was 7 or 8 years old - glory to God!

She has been singing in JMCIM Children’s Choir since she was 7 or 8 years old – glory to God!

It was 2006, the year when I received partial healing from the Lord and I was able to travel to nearby provinces mostly to attend our Church’s crusades with my family. One Wednesday before noon, I received a text message from a sister in Christ who was then a full-time worker in one of the outreach stations of our Church in a faraway province. She requested me to call her. Right away, I was alarmed. I knew it was important. Urgent. She was one who saw dreams and visions living a life of regular prayer and fasting.

I called and she gently but clearly told me about her dream. She dreamed a bad dream that pointed to our then 5-year-old Hannah. She interpreted the dream that we might lose our Hannah, but said that there was something we could do to cast out the fulfilment of the bad dream. She counselled that my beloved husband Felix must offer prayer and fasting for at least 5 days. My knees instantly turned to jelly. But my husband and I prayed incessantly.

The following day, Thursday, my husband didn’t waste time to go to the Fasting House in Pampanga to offer prayer and fasting.

Friday, while he was still in the fasting house, Hannah, my then caregiver Maricris, Jho (Hannah’s nanny),  and I followed him there, our company driver driving us. We stayed in a nearby hotel because we were not on fast, but we went to the chapel of the fasting house to join in the praise and worship morning and evening and attend the Friday overnight service. We stayed in Pampanga until after Sunday service.

We left after that, leaving my husband behind because he wasn’t finished yet with his fasting.

Monday afternoon, Hannah developed a slight fever and colds. After dinner, her fever went up. Up into the night, her fever stayed. Around 10 at night, she started to hallucinate. She would panic and clutch at me in utter fear. She saw demons in the room, on the bed, everywhere. Her face was contorted with horror. In all my adult life, it was my first time to witness a little child gripped with so much fear. She would cry out, “They are here again! They are so many! Their teeth are very long and sharp. They are scary monsters! They are going to eat me! Help me, Mom! They say they will eat me! They are on the bed! They are all crawling!” And on it went.

She was red like a crab cooking  because of her burning fever and at times, perspiration drenched her hair. We (Maricris, Jho, and me) praised and prayed non-stop. Hannah would then collapse on the bed and have a fitful sleep, but after a while, she would wake up with the scary hallucinations again. I would straddle her and Bible in my hand, I would wave it while casting out the demons with all my might in the powerful name of Jesus.

A thought flashed in my mind. If we weren’t born-again Christians yet, serving the Lord in JESUS MIRACLE CRUSADE INTERNATIONAL MINISTRY, and I was well enough to drive, I would have bundled her up in a blanket and brought her to the nearest hospital. But my thoughts and desires then were not toward the hospital but toward the only Savior and Healer, the Lord Jesus Christ. Many people, including Christians from other sects, would persecute me, us, for our decision to completely trust in God. It is our faith.

My husband wasn’t with us, he was in the Fasting House offering up prayer and fasting, and that was the best place he could be at that hour. I did not even inform him.

After on-and-off wrestling with the demons through praising, praying, and casting out, Jho said, “Ate, we can’t do this on our own. Let’s call for prayer warriors from the Pastoral House.” It was late, but the Pastoral House was open 24/7. I called and requested for workers to come. My voice was urgent.

After less than an hour, two workers arrived with a guitar. They immediately knelt beside the bed, prayed, then began praising and worshiping, entreating God for His mercy. We sang along with them. After over half an hour, they closed with another prayer, then they laid their hands on my daughter who was then sound asleep, very hot and cheeks flushed, casting out the demons of sickness.

I requested the workers to stay for the night for we were alone. They hesitated for a while but I was insistent. They slept in the guest room. I then lay beside Hannah and succumbed to much-needed sleep.

Hannah and I almost simultaneously woke up the next morning. I was awakened by the sound of praise and worship and guitar playing. It sounded like it was far away but it drifted to me and I slowly opened my eyes. Hannah opened her eyes, too. Her normal color had returned. She smiled at me. I touched her forehead, her fever was gone. I checked the time. I couldn’t believe it was near noon! My daughter and I slept so soundly and she was completely healed!

“Mom, I’m thirsty,” Hannah said. I told her to wait as I tell someone to bring her water. But she bounded out of bed, looked for her slippers, and told me, “I’ll go to the kitchen myself, Mom.”

“Are you sure?” I asked, concern in my voice.

“Yes, Mom, I’m fine,” she answered me reassuringly and then left the room. She walked out as if nothing happened the night before!

When my husband arrived from the Fasting House in Pampanga, he didn’t have a clue as to what happened for he found us smiling happily. And grateful.

ALL THE GLORY, HONOR, PRAISE, AND THANKSGIVING BELONG TO THE KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS – OUR DEAREST LORD JESUS CHRIST!

The Lord Lifts Up the Lowly: The Testimony of Bro. Edward Tan

Bro. Edward Tan testifying in the pulpit, Dec. 2012 at Amoranto Stadium, Quezon city.

Bro. Edward Tan testifying in the pulpit, Dec. 2012 at Amoranto Stadium, Quezon city.

Here’s a testimony that would bring us encouragement and strengthen our faith as we meet the new year.

Bro. Edward Tan grew up in a wealthy Filipino-Chinese family. Never in his wildest imaginations did he think that there would come a day that all the affluence would disappear in the blink of an eye. But indeed, fate would have it that their family’s business went bankrupt and they lost everything including their home.

There were nights that Bro. Edward went home and find his siblings gone one by one, then he would find them sleeping in the streets. Gradually, his family broke apart and his siblings each went on his/her own way. Bro. Edward was so depressed he wanted to kill himself. He seriously planned to end his life, but when he was about to carry it out, he heard a voice speak, “Don’t do it. I love you.” Bro. Edward didn’t see anyone and he couldn’t understand what it meant. But this did stop him from taking his own life.

Bro. Edward stayed in Luneta Park, forlorn. One day, he was walking around the vicinity of the park destitute, until he reached Mehan Garden. He saw the worship service of JESUS MIRACLE CRUSADE INTERNATIONAL MINISTRY being held openly there. He stopped in his tracks, for, according to his testimony, he had nowhere to go anyway. He listened and observed and while he did so, he was amazed by what he saw: the beloved brethren were clothed in garments projecting holiness, singing and worshiping the Lord with all their hearts, minds, and souls. When the beloved Hon. Pastor Wilde E. Almeda stood up for the altar call, inviting all those who are lost to come and receive the Lord Jesus Christ, Bro. Edward thought, “Is this what it means by the voice I heard?”

Bro. Edward felt the love he was longing for. That night, he received the Lord Jesus Christ as His Savior and was baptized in water in His name.

He left the place with peace and joy in his heart for the first time in years. About two days after having received the Lord, he was walking again around Manila not really knowing where to go. But the Lord had set the cycle of blessings on his life so that on this particular day, he met his old classmate. The classmate was shocked to learn about Bro. Edward’s family’s misfortune. He invited Bro. Edward to their home in Corinthian Gardens in Pasig City, gave him clothing, and a job in one of their family’s gas stations.

Bro. Edward was so glad and his faith in God was all the more strengthened. He believed that God had finally started to bless him. When he received his very first salary, and although he wanted so much to buy the food that he was craving for, he gave it all to the Lord as his first fruits offering. He wanted to honor Him with it.

Later on, Bro. Edward desired to have another job and he prayed earnestly for it. He saw an ad in the newspaper and he wanted so much to have that job. The only problem was, this big multinational company was looking for applicants that were graduates of Ateneo, La Salle and UP. He didn’t even finish second year college and not in one of those schools. But, he had great faith in God, believing that He would be the One who would give him this job. So, by faith in Jesus’ name, he proceeded to apply.

He testifies that when he walked into the room, the other applicants who were graduates from the three reputable schools, looked at him from head to toe. They whispered to each other and couldn’t hide their amusement. They laughed at him. There were seven levels of  interviews in all, through different managers and executive officers. Even the first interviewer was surprised to see him and asked if he knew the requirements. Bro. Edward told him the truth about himself, and he also professed his faith in Jesus Christ. He started to share God’s miracles and mighty deeds in the Church. The interview turned out to be a sharing of Gods’ testimonies.

At the end of the first interview, the manager told Bro. Edward that he passed it and he was going to the next level. And so it was, until Bro. Edward completed all seven levels of interview, and he got the job he was desiring for.

At this point, I remember King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, how God humbled him and showed him that He reigns over all the earth, frustrates the schemes of men, and derides their worldly wisdom. Meditate on the following:

For His dominion is an everlasting dominion,
And His kingdom is from generation to generation.
35 All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing;
He does according to His will in the army of heaven
And among the inhabitants of the earth.
No one can restrain His hand
Or say to Him, “What have You done?” (Dan. 4:34-35, emphasis added)

Bro. Edward continues to serve the Lord faithfully to this day.

Halleluiah! To God be the glory!
