Exceeding Joy

Bro. Edgardo Dado at work in the machine shop inside the ship.

Bro. Edgardo Dado worked as a seaman. In mid-2009, he underwent a medical examination, and his X-ray result showed that he had “mediastinal widening”. The doctor explained that his lungs had expanded. To make sure what had caused it, Bro. Edgardo underwent a chest CT scan. The results showed that he had “aortic aneurysm” (AA). That is, the vein that supplies blood to his heart and brain had ballooned. The doctor said that if this blows up, he will die instantly. The doctor’s advice was immediate surgery. Bro. Edgardo and his wife, Sis. Jennifer, were told to prepare P750,000 (roughly $17,000) for the operation. This was in Philippine General Hospital (PGH).

To seek a second opinion, they went to Philippine Heart Center. They got the same advice: an immediate surgery. Dejected, they went home.

Sis. Jennifer asked for prayers from loved ones for her husband’s healing. Her brother, who is already a born-again Christian and serves the Lord in JESUS MIRACLE CRUSADE INTERNATIONAL MINISTRY, told her that he had already started praying for her beloved husband’s healing, but advised her to attend the worship service of JMCIM and listen to numerous testimonies of God’s miraculous healing.

Bro. Edgardo and Sis. Jennifer readily agreed. When they entered one of the entrance gates of Amoranto Stadium where JMCIM worship service was held, Bro. Edgardo asked, “Are we already in heaven?” They saw the beloved brethren wearing white; the sisters wearing modest clothing showing a picture of holiness.

As she looked around and seeing the beloved brethren worshiping the Lord wholeheartedly, Sis. Jennifer couldn’t help crying. She prayed to the Lord, begged Him to heal her beloved husband and not allow the operation to push through, and vowed that she will serve Him. That night, Bro. Edgardo and Sis. Jennifer accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Still lacking in faith, Sis. Jennifer went on to prepare for her husband’s surgery. Bro. Edgardo underwent another CT scan to know the exact area of the operation. The procedure is called CT aortogram. The couple was ready for Bro. Edgardo’s operation. They went to PGH where the surgery will be performed. On their way, they dropped by at the doctor’s clinic to get the result of his CT aortogram. The doctor was surprised to see that the expansion on Bro. Edgardo’s vein decreased from 6.4cm to 4.7cm. He said that in that case, it is better to leave it untouched.

The doctor gave them a long list of what Bro. Edgardo should avoid. Most importantly, he was told that he cannot work as a seaman anymore.

The couple was so grateful to the Lord for His answer to their prayers. They accepted baptism in water in Jesus’ name.

Two months later, Bro. Edgardo desired to work again. And although it was against the doctor’s orders, the couple’s faith in the Lord Jesus strengthened them.

Bro. Edgardo underwent another medical exam, first of which was X-ray. His blood pressure was taken and it was high. Many times during the day, his BP was taken showing the same result. Meanwhile, Sis. Jennifer was at home on her knees begging the Lord to grant her beloved husband’s desire to work as a seaman again. She vowed that she will continue to serve Him no matter what His answer would be. Bro. Edgardo called up telling her that he only had one last time for his BP to be taken. And said that whatever the outcome will be, they will continue to serve the Lord faithfully.

Bro. Edgrado’s blood pressure became normal, his X-ray result was clear, and the doctor examining him declared that he is “fit to work”.

Bro. Edgardo went back working as a seaman. His wife, Sis. Jennifer, and their two children, continue to serve the Lord in JMCIM. They have received the Lord’s numerous blessings – healing, protection, and prosperity. In Sis. Jennifer’s words, “I have found exceeding joy!”

Halleluia! To God be the glory!

Great Faith Has Healed Her

Sis. Tess Lloren at the Amoranto Stadium, Oct. 2010

Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt…(Matthew 15:28)

Before Sis. Tess Lloren came to know the Lord, she had heart and gall bladder diseases. She was in and out of hospitals and took many kinds of medicines to try to cure her diseases, but she was none the better. She was also due for operation on her gall bladder, but didn’t have the money ready for the procedure.

Then in 2008, she accepted the invitation of a member of JESUS MIRACLE CRUSADE INTERNATIONAL MINISTRY, who shared to her the testimonies of God’s healing in the church, to attend the worship service. After she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and was baptized in Jesus’ name, she was instantly healed from her heart and gall bladder diseases!

Sometime in 2009, she went to Pampanga to fast and pray. While fasting, some elders of the church approached her and asked her to join them in the “sounding” (where workers go from barangay to barangay, from house to house, testifying, sharing the Gospel, and inviting people to attend the crusade) for the crusade in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur. She agreed, but after 7 days fasting and her companions were ready to leave, she changed her mind and wanted to go home instead. But she heard a voice telling her to continue praying and fasting, which she obeyed.

Not long after, she received a call from home informing her that her grandchild had an accident and was in the hospital and in critical condition. Her grandchild has been comatose for 2 days and needed to undergo surgery, so Sis. Tess made a vow to the Lord, “I beg of You to heal my granddaughter and I promise to go to Narvacan, Ilocos Sur to help in the sounding.” After this prayer, Sis. Tess’ granddaughter woke up and walked. Her ultrasound result became normal. She was healed.

This was the start of Sis. Tess’ calling to serve the Lord. She helped in the sounding  in different towns and provinces.

While sounding in Laguna, she felt a pain in her chest. It was so painful but she still did her best to finish the work for the day. Back in the pastoral house, Sis. Tess felt a lump in her breast which was causing the pain. She endured the pain and finished all the crusades lined up for the summer.

Then she went to see a doctor. After the biopsy, the doctor told her she had breast cancer. But instead of seeking medical help, she went to Pampanga to fast and pray.

Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. (Matthew 17:21)

After having fasted for 10 days, she begged the Lord, “Dearest Lord Jesus, I trust in You completely. I hope in You alone for nothing is impossible with You! I rely in You to heal me. You, alone, are my Healer! I beg of You to heal me. How can I continue working in Your vineyard if I’m sick? How can I tell people that You are the God that heals and works wonders and miracles!”  And she wept very much. Then she heard a voice say, “Child, I have healed you!” (At this point in Sis. Tess’ testimony in the pulpit, she was filled with the Holy Spirit and her body shook uncontrollably while uttering words of praise and worship, tears flowing freely. HALLELUIA!)

The lump in her breast was completely gone and so was the pain. The Lord Jesus has completely healed her.

Halleluia! To God be the glory!

Healed Heart

Bro. Rico Balisi at the Fasting House in San Fernando, Pampanga.

In 1997, beloved SPO2 Rico Balisi, then in active service as a policeman, suffered a heart attack. He was immediately brought to the Angeles City Medical Center. The doctors there assessed that he had only 24 hours to live. He was then transferred to the Philippine Heart Center where doctors examined him and found out that his heart was enlarged, and it had a wound and a blocked artery.

He needed to be operated on immediately, and needed to prepare P500,000-P800,000 ($11,000-$18,000) for the procedure. They didn’t have that amount of money. Bro. Rico’s wife told him she was going to ask from charitable institutions, and left.

When she came back, she informed her husband that approval for donations from these institutions would take a very long process.  They didn’t have a choice but to leave the hospital and go back home, with the many medicines that the doctors prescribed.

Back home in the province, despite the many different medicines that Bro. Rico was taking for his heart, he suffered everyday, not being able to breathe normally. One midnight, he could hardly breathe again, and as soon as morning light came, they left for the provincial hospital. On their way, Bro. Rico’s eyes caught the signage of the JESUS MIRACLE CRUSADE INTERNATIONAL MINISTRY that was in front of the Pastoral and Fasting House in San Fernando, Pampanga. It read: “JESUS SAVES, JESUS HEALS”.  Bro. Rico took note of it and planned to visit it when they leave the hospital.

In the hospital, the doctors couldn’t do anything but to advise him to have that operation and to continue taking his medicines. Again, Bro.Rico and his wife went home disappointed.

The following Sunday, Bro. Rico and his wife went to the Sunday service of JMCIM in San Fernando, Pampanga. He received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized in Jesus’ name.

Within a month of attending services, Bro. Rico had not yet received the healing he so desired. But he continued to attend and listen intently to all the testimonies of God’s miraculous healing.  He approached those that testified and asked them how they obtained healing. He asked a brother who was healed of heart disease, and this was his answer: “I just continued to serve the Lord faithfully and trusted Him completely.”  Another one said, “Take courage, trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, for nothing is impossible with our living God!”

Bro. Rico also watched regularly the JMCIM TV program while at home, joining in the mass healing led by beloved Hon. Pastor Evangelist Wilde E. Almeda.

Gradually, Bro. Rico’s heart disease was healed by the Lord. That was many years ago, and he continues to serve the Lord faithfully to this day.

Halleluia! To God be the glory!
